Hello, my name is Leah.

I’m a product designer with 12+ years of experience who believes the best design work is often invisible—built into systems, processes, and decisions that let teams move fast without breaking things. I've done work at Crate & Barrel, Gretel.ai, U.S. News & World Report, and across several freelance projects.

I think about design the way an architect thinks about a building: structure first, details second. The best solutions aren't just intuitive for the person using them, they're for the team building and maintaining them too. I ask a lot of questions, not to slow things down, but to make sure we're solving the right problem before committing to an answer.

I do my best work in cross-functional environments where design has a real seat at the table. Lately, that's meant working across teams on AI solutions that touch nearly every product area—influencing roadmap decisions, and aligning leadership around a shared design direction. I mentor designers and step into design leadership when the team needs it. My passion lies in design systems, process, and the intricate details most people overlook. That's where the craft actually lives.

How I work

Systematically

Constraints are generative. Whether I'm building a component library or untangling a user flow, I look for the underlying structure first—it's what lets creative teams move fast and last long.

Intentionally

I design for the person I've actually talked to. That means grounding every decision in research, accessibility, and real context (not assumptions) and prioritizing the why before the how.

Strategically

Design is most powerful when it shapes direction, not just execution. I bring systems thinking to roadmaps and cross-functional conversations long before anyone opens a design tool.

Passions beyond the 9-to-5

Seeing the world

I love to travel and am always planning for ways to put more stamps in my passport and mud on my boots.

Cooking (and eating!)

Exploring flavors and sharing joy with loved ones is a delightful creative outlet I cherish.

A good book

Reading is my escape, knowledge source, and gateway to countless adventures.
